An open letter to AEW, from a British Wrestling Fan.
Dear All Elite Wrestling,
My name is Joel - and I am a life long wrestling fan who lives in the UK.
As I am sure you know, we have a VERY passionate and loyal wrestling fan base here. But over the last year, the scene has taken a massive hit with lots of talent getting signed to different companies and an unclear future about who we will get to see at different promotions. It's definitely put a downer in things for a while, but the community stayed strong.
You see, that's the thing with the UK wrestling fans. We are a community. We are a family. When companies put on big shows (example; Progress Hello Wembley last year) it's a chance for us all to get together and enjoy our favourite thing in the world with the rest of our extended wrestling family.
What I am trying to say, in a round about way - is that we WANT AEW in the UK. For you guys to announce a UK show, would be the event of the year for a LOT of fans. I'm sure you guys have the intention to come over here at some point, but I just want to make it clear to you that you will be very very welcome here.
While I was writing this, news broke of am alleged AEW: Royal Albert Hall show. If that's true then it's very exciting. There are many great arenas you guys could easily sell out, and RAH is definitely one of them. But if not, there are great venues out of London also.
Oh and by the way its not just an AEW show we want, we want Starrcast too! Let's do the whole shebang, because you will not be disappointed by our passion.
Also, make sure you check out the insane amount of promotions and scout them out. Attack Pro, OTT, Fight Club Pro, Riptide just to name a few. Training schools like Dragon Pro. And my post that's dropping this weekend of "10 British Wrestlers Destined For A Big 2019" (I gotta get my shit in okay?)
I'm sure a British AEW show is inevitable. But I'm really hoping it's sooner rather than later. Because there is a huge majority of us here who believe in the revolution. We believe in your goal to make a change. And we want to support it in person.
Thank you for your time, and I'll be seeing you at the first UK show!
All the best,
Joel @ The Crimson Mask
