5 Home Learning Resources (Part 1)

The UK is on a semi-Lockdown, and you are at home with the kids! Its important to try and keep a sense of routine and keep their brains active. Although if you are feeling too pressured or not mentally okay to do that - please look after yourselves first! If you guys need a couple of days of messing about before you get down to the learning then take that time!

There are TONNES of great FREE content on the Internet to help you keep your childrens mind occupied and healthy. So this will be an ongoing series while we are all indoors to keep the ideas fresh and you and the kids happy! So without further ado I bring you….

FIVE HOME LEARNING RESOURCES (Part 1)

Twinkl is so full of activities and content that I could probably end this whole list series right here. It is very much a one stop shop for all sorts of ideas and even timetables for you to print out and make your own learning plan! It is normally a paid subscription service (most expensive Ultimate Pass is 8.50 a month) but they are currently giving a months free entry. If you want to home educate your children during this time - Twinkl is the place to start. LINK HERE

Scouts are running a massive campaign fronted by British Astronaut Tim Peake called #TheGreatIndoors. It includes LOADS of fun activities to do at home and they are adding more and more as the weeks go on. Its generally aimed at kids between the ages of 6-18. LINK HERE

3. Explaining Corona

If you are struggling to explain this crazy situation to your kids, then you might want to print out this little Activity Book and go through it with your children. It has cute little illustrations and has bits for the kids to fill in themselves about how this makes them feel. LINK HERE

Another brilliant E-Book that has loads of activities to do with the little ones that can help keep them calm. They may not understand everything that is going on out there (heck, who does!) but staying in the house for a long period of time is going to pull up loads of emotions and mindsets. Its important to have these tools at hand to help calm the kids down when they are getting a bit annoyed at not being able to go out with their friends. LINK HERE

NASA Kids Club is a fantastic little website full of loads of Free Activities and Games for the kids to play on the computer. They also have a really cool Image Library that you can search for pictures of all different planets and space ships. Link to the Image Library. LINK HERE
