I consider myself to be someone who keeps up to date with all sorts of wrestling, a passion that has obviously led me to writing about it on this blog. Dojo Pro COMPLETELY passed me by, until i searched for “Wrestling” on Amazon Prime late last year. If you haven’t heard of it - you are missing out! Dojo Pro is a wrestling show with a difference. It is associated with ROH and the matches are held through a very unique Tower format similar to Mortal Kombat. So let me try and explain to you the reasons that you need to be watching this unique and fun show.
1) Talent
Let’s start with where Dojo Pro is strongest. Its roster. Because they have connections to ROH, Season One is FILLED with talent. Jeff Cobb, MJF, Shane Strickland, James Storm, Joey Janela, Corey Hollis and many more great wrestlers pop up on the show. Season Two is looking to be full of even more of a stacked roster!
2) Table Format
The way the show works, is the wrestler who wins the first match - gains the Dojo Pro White Belt. They will then fight the person above them on the table. The winner of that match, gets the White Belt. This goes on, up the league table - until they reach the very top and fight for the coveted Dojo Pro Black Belt. This is such a unique and fun way to present a wrestling show, and they absolutely own it.
3) You can Binge watch the entire thing!
Because of the way the league table works; each show is around 20 - 30 minutes long. This normally consists of the match, promo package and an interview. This makes for an easy watch, and a massive alternative to the countless hours a week you get from other companies.
4) Its Stylish
Another thing that makes Dojo Pro SO easy to watch, is how it looks. The whole show looks beautiful, from their unique studio layout to their great promo packages and brilliant illustrations of the competitors.
5) Great for new watchers
I mentioned earlier that there are great promo packages for these guys. It makes it a lot easier for new and old fans of wrestling to jump in and learn all about these guys and get your teeth straight into the matches. With the focus of each episode only being on the two guys in the ring, it gives a lot of room for back story and match hype.
All this adds up to it being a fantastic alternative to its competitors, and in my eyes it’s a must watch for any wrestling fan.
