The Lionminded Self Care Challenge

The biggest challenge some people face these days, happens to also be one of the best ways to turn a bad day into a better day. Self Love. It can take many different forms: big things such as cutting out a toxic person from your life all the way down to a seemingly small thing such as listening to one of your favourite albums.

Here are some things I do for myself:

  • Listen to a favourite album.

  • Watch a film I haven’t watched for a while.

  • Go for a walk.

  • Eat something tasty.

  • Take an hour to myself to play the Playstation.

  • Learn about something new.

  • Tick something off my To-Do list.

  • Write.

  • Catch up with a friend.

These are obviously pretty basic things that some people do every day, but i believe it is very important to be mindful that you are doing this for yourself and recognising that this is something that you do for yourself.


It is IMPORTANT. I believe it to be one of the best lifestyle changes you can make for yourself and your mental health. Which is why I want to try and push this message to more people and hopefully start making your outlook on life a little bit more cheery.

Which brings me to the Self Care Challenge. I challenge you here and now to post a picture to social media every single day with at least one thing you have done today that is for YOU. Not for your partner, your parents, your family or your friends. Something for YOU. Tag me in the picture (@lionmindedblog on Instagram) because I REALLY want to see what things other people do for self love. Do it for 10 days straight, take the time to make yourself happy - even if it is just one or two things a day. I’m so excited to see what makes you happy.
